Russell & Yelland are acknowledged to be at the forefront of implementing BIM in South Australia. Our team would undertake all design development and documentation in 3D, and during feasibility studies we will often use a mix of pencil, 2D and 3D modelling to convey design ideas to the client group.
A fully- integrated 3D modelling of the architecture, structure and services modelling is our aim on every project we deliver. This saves time, improves coordination and allows the visual presentation of design issues to the client, consultant team, builder and subcontractors. Coordination of specialist shop drawings such as mechanical and structural steel are also possible, saving time in on-site rework.
Our implementation of Autodesk Glue allows clients, consultants and on-site construction teams not used to 3D software easy access to cloud-based versions of the model.
The advantages of providing a comprehensive BIM solution include
- early resolution of scope and cost issues
- earlier ability to analyse building fabric and materials selections issues
- better client understanding of design options
- more comprehensive analysis of building operational and space management issues.
Our experience working within tight cost limits on our projects will ensure the value for money is given the high priority it deserves throughout the design and construction process, and that ongoing operational costs are given equal weight when making design decisions.
