Christmas Greetings from Russell & Yelland

We handed over the new double court gymnasium  at Cabra Dominican College this month, marking an energising year for Russell & Yelland. Further work is planned for the College, which we’ll kick off in the first half of 2020.

Residents are enjoying the festive season in the new main wing of the Copperhouse Court Nursing Home at Whyalla. The remaining works are due for completion early in the New Year. The new Senior Students’ Centre at St Joseph’s School, Port Lincoln  is nearing completion, too, along with Concordia’s Murtoa extension for additional Year 7 classes.

The final quarter of 2019 was a busy one for new projects, with three school redevelopments at Port Lincoln, Underdale and Seaford all commenced for the Department for Education.

The 6-chair Renal Unit at Mt Gambier is now complete, and the Whyalla Hospital 9-chair Renal Unit will commence construction in the near future. Various planning studies expanded our health facilities expertise this year.

We were thrilled to be recognised with the Colorbond Award for Steel Architecture for Cabra Dominican College’s Therese Sweeney Music Centre at the 2019 SA Architecture Awards . The project also received a commendation at the Learning Environments Australasia SA/NT Chapter Awards, while the Caritas Building at Nazareth Catholic College was the winner of the New Facility over $8m category and Brompton Primary School’s STEM facility received the Award for an Innovative Educational Initiative.

This year we farewelled Anthea and Judith and welcomed back Scott (after a short break) and Aphrodite (after some years!) We also welcomed Georgie as a member of staff after a brief student internship. Evelyn Adelaide Harbison, daughter of Will and Kimberley, was welcomed as the newest addition to our growing collection of under-10s.

As is custom, we have made a Christmas donation to the Australian Refugee Association in lieu of sending cards. We wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday with your loved ones.

Our office will be closed from noon on Friday 20th December and will reopen on Monday 6th January. For urgent matters, John Held will be contactable on 0417 840 337 over the break.
