There’s great progress being made on a major redevelopment at St Joseph’s School in Port Lincoln, with the recent completion of the new lower primary facilities.

Director, Stewart Caldwell, and Project Architect, Bettina Koch, were on hand yesterday to see the official opening of the newest facility. Principal, Catherine Gurr, gave a wonderful speech noting students’ positive reactions to the building. She acknowledged how successful the design has been in creating a calming environment for lower primary students.

Works will soon commence on the adjacent upper primary building, which will complete the primary school transformation, ready for full operation in the second half of 2024. Our designs for the upper school include six learning areas, a music room, breakout spaces, think tanks and a new canteen.

Construction at Stella Maris Primary School in Seacombe Gardens has now commenced. We have maximised every design opportunity on a tight site for this bustling school community, with completion anticipated in early 2024. A new administration and teaching building will form the heart of the revamped school, with additional general classrooms, a dedicated OSHC space and specialist music facilities all welcome redevelopments and additions.

Meanwhile, a new administration building is also underway at St Gabriel’s School in Enfield as the second stage of development following a master planning process we commenced in 2019. We’re defining a welcoming new entry for the school on the highest section of the site, which will enjoy views over the main courtyard. The building will include a reception and main office, staff room and a small, quiet reflective space. Once the new facility is complete, the old administration area will be converted into a library with additional space for small group gatherings.

We are also busy documenting the new upper primary building for Antonio School at Morphett Vale. With eight learning areas across two levels, it connects the lower and upper levels of the site and provides a new public face to the school. Despite the tight site location we are incorporating indoor-outdoor learning opportunities with planted shading arbours, tying into the school’s existing tree canopy and strong emphasis on natural learning environments.
