The Covid diaries

It’s fair to say the pandemic has tested us all, but our team is now happily reunited in the studio, having transitioned remarkably well to and from remote working arrangements.

Video conferencing and online Teams software might have kept our information sharing on track while working apart, but we are happy to report little impact on productivity given the individual flexibility remote working afforded.

While nothing beats face-to-face conferencing during some work phases, we will be testing various new arrangements as more permanent flexible options in the coming months. Watch this space.

An unusual windfall from Covid-19 has been the temporary return of Rachel Wood to the team. Rachel worked with Russell & Yelland over a decade ago, having left to pursue other opportunities work in 2011, moving to Europe in 2016. Early this year she returned home to attend a wedding and found herself stranded when the Covid outbreak hit, unable to return to Sweden where she routinely commutes daily to work in Denmark.

Making the best of a bad situation, we asked Rachel back to assist us during a rather busy period. We’re grateful to have her back, but know that – like Covid – this won’t last forever.
